The Story Behind the Cracker Sandwich

The crunchy peanut butter crackers you know and love today all started with Philip L. Lance, a food broker from Charlotte, NC. Lance had a whopping 500 pounds of raw peanuts that he didn't want to go to waste, so he decided to roast them and sell the nuts for a nickel a bag. The freshly roasted peanuts were a huge hit to patrons and Lance was inspired to grow his line to include peanut butter.
